Community Support Service - GlasgowCommunity Support Workers (Relief)Our Community Support Service, which operates across the city, provides support to adults with learning disabilities and associated health issues and/or physical disabilities to participate in a wide range of activities including drama, music and movement, creative arts, discussion groups including health and wellbeing, community support on a 1:1 basis for social activities and practical tasks.
In our housing support projects, we support individuals to live a full life in their own homes and in the local community. We also provide short breaks support for individuals to enjoy time away with friends in various locations in Britain. We are looking to recruit a number of Community Support Workers (Relief) who are motivated, creative and enthusiastic with the ability to deliver high quality care and support through person centred approaches. The posts are peripatetic across the city-wide services operate on a day, evening and at weekend basis. The ability to undertake shift work, including sleepovers, and to travel is essential and the use of a car for work purposes would be advantageous. We also support people to go on short breaks, therefore the ability to support individuals on 2, 3, 4 nights short breaks is essential for the Community Support Worker (Peripatetic) post and an expectation for the relief worker posts. The Community Support Workers (Relief) position is on an as and when required basis.Qualifications or experience are not essential. We offer excellent support, training and a salary of £9.50 per hour. The successful candidates, if unqualified, must be willing to work towards a suitable qualification for a post at this level, in line with the SSSC Regulatory Requirements.If you are looking for a new challenge, this may be the position for you.We value our staff very highly.
