Our
First Stop Emergency Accommodation Service
based in the
Kirkintilloch
area of East Dunbartonshire, provides support for homeless adults, an alternative
to B & B accommodation, short stay with emphasis on positive move on outcomes.
Due to internal developments within the service, we are looking to a
Housing Support Worker
who has a genuine interest in homelessness, is committed and self-motivated to work as part of a team providing safe, compassionate and high-quality care. The successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting individuals to assess their housing support needs, develop action plans and achieve positive outcomes. Working closely as part of a consistent team is essential to meet both service user and project objectives. The ideal candidate should also be able to adapt to changing needs and age groups, manage crisis situations that may arise in a non-judgemental and supportive manner whilst maintaining the safety and well-being of yourself and those around you.
A flexible shift work pattern including weekends is part of the role and is essential to the provision of flexible, 24-hour needs led support.
If you feel that you have the right qualities for the post, providing caring and responsive support to homeless individuals and are looking for a new challenge, this may be the position for you.
Qualifications or experience are not essential. We offer excellent support, training and a starting salary of £9.30 per hour.
The successful candidate (if unqualified), must be willing to work towards a suitable qualification for a post at this level, in line with the SSSC Regulatory Requirements.

A
ppointments are made subject to satisfactory membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, SSSC registration and appropriate checks.
